BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Birmingham-Southern women's volleyball team split Southern Athletic Association play this weekend.  The Panthers (13-5) swept Oglethorpe University 3-0, but then fell 3-1 to league leader Berry College. 

Julia Denby (Gulf Breeze, Fla./Gulf Breeze HS) and Emmy Kilgore (Mountain Brook, Ala./Mountain Brook HS) powered the Panthers offense.  Denby earned 28 kills on the weekend, and Kilgore finished with 21, respectively.  Rachel Lee (Montgomery, Ala./The Montgomery Academy) averaged 43.5 assists per match.

Melaina Hissam (Madison, Ala./Bob Jones HS) earned a career-high 30 digs against Berry and finished with 41 for the weekend.

BSC returns home on Wednesday, Oct. 18 to take on Millsaps College at 6 p.m. in Bill Battle Coliseum.
