Box Score BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Birmingham-Southern College football team dropped its home game against Sewanee 34-13 Saturday afternoon on Homecoming. The Panthers move to 1-5 overall.
Hunter McEntire (Newton, Ala./Houston Academy) led the defense. He finished with a game-high 11 tackles, nine solo. In the secondary, Matthew Byers (Pelham, Ala./John Carroll Catholic HS) knocked down a game-high three passes.
The Panthers tied the score at 7-all in the first quarter off a 13 yard rush by Hunter Kountz (Knoxville, Tenn./Knoxville Catholic HS) with 7:26 on the clock.
They picked up their second touchdown in the third quarter. It was setup off a 25 yard pass from Trevor Oakes (Somerville, Ala./Hartselle HS) to Buddy Dowd (Dothan, Ala./Northview HS). Kyler Jackson (Hoover, Ala./Auburn Univ.) punched it in from two yards out.
BSC heads to Texas next. The Panthers face Austin at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 21. They then return home to take on Berry College on October 28.
