BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Birmingham-Southern women's tennis team opened its home season with an 8-1 win over Covenant College in Ann Dielen Tennis Complex Saturday afternoon. The Panthers are now 2-1 on the year.
BSC swept the doubles matches. No. 42 Carlee Petro (Birmingham, Ala./Mountain Brook HS) and McKenzie Courtney (Mobile, Ala./UMS-Wright Prep) had big 6-1, 6-0 wins. Petro defeated Aly Hall at the #1 position and Courtney won at the #3 position over Claire Luger.
The Panthers remain at home for their next contest. They take on NCAA Division II opponent the University of Alabama at Huntsville 1 p.m. tomorrow.
