DEMOREST, Ga. – The No. 5 Birmingham-Southern baseball team dropped its first game of the season 4-3 Sunday evening on the road at Piedmont College.  The Lions hit a two-out, walk-off single in the bottom of the ninth to earn the win.  BSC is now 2-1 on the year.  Piedmont moved to 4-1 overall.

Tyler Hamel (Atlanta, Ga./Alpharetta HS) went 2-for-3 with an RBI to lead the Panthers.  David Scott (Atlanta, Ga./Woodward Academy) also had two hits on the day.  He went 2-for-4 and scored two runs.

Preston White (Memphis, Tenn./Memphis University School) received the loss in his first appearance on the mound this season.

The Panthers remain on the road for their next contest.  They face LaGrange College on Tuesday, Feb. 14.  First pitch is set for 6 p.m. ET.
