Box Score BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – For the second straight game, No. 5 Birmingham-Southern baseball had a home run in Striplin Field. The Panthers used a big third inning to defeat Concordia (TX) 8-2 and improve to 5-1 on the year. BSC has now won three straight and are currently 2-0 at home.
Preston White (Memphis, Tenn./Memphis University School) hit a two-run homer to left in the second inning to open scoring. He went 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBI. Stephen Himic (Birmingham, Ala./Indian Springs HS) earned the win after going five innings and only giving up one run.
David Scott (Atlanta, Ga./Woodward Academy) and Ross Anderson (Section, Ala./Section HS) also had two hits on the day. Scott went 2-for-4 with an RBI, and Anderson was 2-for-3 with a run and an RBI.
The Panthers' series against Concordia concludes tomorrow. First pitch is scheduled for 11 a.m. on Sunday, Feb. 19.
