Box Score 2 BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – No. 5 Birmingham-Southern baseball swept competition Sunday at Striplin Field. The Panthers topped North Park 9-3 and then earned the 5-4 walk-off win against Washington (Mo.) in the night cap.
Sam Roberts (Johns Creek, Ga./Blessed Trinity) went 4-for-4 including a double, with three runs and an RBI against North Park. John Michael Shirley (Mobile, Ala./UMS-Wright Prep) picked up the win. He went five innings, striking out three and giving up just one run.
Against WashU, Tyler Hamel (Atlanta, Ga./Alpharetta HS) hit a walk-off single in the bottom of the ninth with one out. Roberts went 2-for-4 to lead the team. Easton Fuller (Fairhope, Ala./Alexandria HS) pitched two scoreless innings to earn the win.
The Panthers remain at home for their next game. They take on Huntingdon College at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 28.
