BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Birmingham-Southern women's tennis team swept doubles and singles play against Spring Hill College Saturday on the Dielen Tennis Complex. BSC is now 3-4 on the year.
No. 42 Carlee Petro (Birmingham, Ala./Mountain Brook HS) never dropped a game in singles or doubles play. She and partner Emily Whitlock (Panama City, Fla./A.C. Mosley HS) won #1 doubles 8-0 before she went on to win #1 singles 6-0, 6-0.
Isabella Wisener (Horton, Ala./Douglas HS) and McKenzie Courtney (Mobile, Ala./UMS-Wright Prep) also won their #2 doubles match 8-0. Whitlock would only drop one game on the day, defeating her #4 singles opponent 6-1, 6-0.
Mary Evelyn Carroll (Madison, Miss./Madison Central HS) also won in straight sets. She defeated the #6 player 6-0, 6-0.
The Panthers remain at home for their next contest. They open Southern Athletic Association play against Millsaps on Friday, March 24. Match time is set for 1 p.m.
