MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The Birmingham-Southern women's tennis swept doubles and nearly swept singles play to improve to 2-1 in conference with an 8-1 win over Rhodes College Sunday afternoon. The Panthers are now 5-5 overall.
No. 42 Carlee Petro (Birmingham, Ala./Mountain Brook HS) won her fourth match in two days at the #1 position in doubles and singles. She and partner Emily Whitlock (Panama City, Fla./A.C. Mosley HS) won 9-7 in #1 doubles. Petro went on to win #1 singles 6-2, 6-1.
The Panthers return home on Tuesday, April 4 to take on NCAA Division I opponent Jacksonville State. Match time is set for 4 p.m.
