BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Birmingham-Southern women's volleyball team moved to 6-4 overall and 2-1 in Southern Athletic Association play Saturday with its 3-0 sweep of Oglethorpe University in Bill Battle Coliseum.

Julia Denby (Gulf Breeze, Fla./Gulf Breeze HS) continued to dominate at the net.  She finished with a match-high 11 kills hitting .474 with two blocks.  Rachel Lee (Montgomery, Ala./The Montgomery Academy) quarterbacked the offense.  She earned match-highs of 34 assists and three aces.

Defensively, Melaina Hissam (Madison, Ala./Bob Jones HS) led with a team-high 12 digs.  Julia Shoemake (Huntsville, Ala./The Randolph School) , who took over libero duties in the final two sets, collected seven digs, respectively.

BSC hits the road next to continue SAA play.  They take on Sewanee Saturday, Sept. 23 and then face Centre College on Sunday, Sept. 24.
