BSC Shutout 5-0 at Emory

ATLANTA - The Birmingham-Southern women's soccer team's lost its first match in over two weeks on Sunday afternoon as the Panthers fell to the Emory Eagles by the score of 5-0.

Since falling in double overtime to Piedmont on Sept. 1, BSC has been on tear winning its last five games. That streak came to an end on Sunday. Emory outmatched BSC in nearly every category, including outshooting the Panthers 33-1.

Emory scored two goals in the first half and finished with three second-half goals to complete the shutout.

BSC freshman goalkeeper Blakley Jones (Tuscaloosa, Ala./Holy Spirit Catholic HS), despite allowing five goals, recorded a career-high 12 saves in the loss.

Birmingham-Southern's next match will be on the road at Covenant on Tuesday, Sept. 19. Kickoff for that match is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. EDT.
