Box Score ATLANTA – The Birmingham-Southern men's basketball team fell to Southern Athletic Association foe Oglethorpe 100-90 on Sunday afternoon, ending its five-game winning streak in the conference.
The Panthers were led by senior Harrison Deneka (Memphis, Tenn./Christian Brothers HS), who dropped a double-double with 13 rebounds and a career-high 37 points.
BSC jumped out to a quick 11-2 lead over the Stormy Petrels to start the game, but the home team fought back to take a 49-44 lead at the half.
Oglethorpe never gave up its lead in the second half and held on to secure the win.
The loss drops Birmingham-Southern to 9-11 overall and 6-3 in the SAA. The Panthers return home on Friday, Feb. 2 against the Centre Colonels. Tip-off for the game is scheduled for 8 p.m.
