Box Score BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Birmingham-Southern women's volleyball team improved to 17-5 after sweeping Southern Athletic Association rival Millsaps College 3-0 Wednesday night in Bill Battle Coliseum. The Panthers are now 10-2 in conference play with the win.
Milea Ray (Alabaster, Ala./Pensacola State) and Ansleigh Dailey (Daphne, Ala./Bayside Academy) earned double-doubles. Ray finished with match highs of 21 digs and 16 kills. Dailey netted a match-high 31 assists and 10 digs.
Julia Denby (Gulf Breeze, Fla./Gulf Breeze HS) also earned double-digit kills with 10. Defensively, two others finished with double-digit digs in Caroline Johnson (Lucas, Texas/Lovejoy HS) at 18, and Julia Shoemake (Huntsville, Ala./The Randolph School) with 10, respectively. Rebecca Erwin (Duluth, Ga./Duluth HS) earned a match-high five blocks.
The Panthers close out the regular season at home this weekend in a pair of SAA matchups. They face Oglethorpe University Friday, Oct. 19 at 5 p.m. and then No. 16 Berry College on Saturday at noon.
