Box Score 2 ATLANTA, Ga. – The Birmingham-Southern women's volleyball team upset No. 5 Thomas More and defeated Washington and Lee 3-1 to open the Emory National Invitational 2-0 Friday afternoon. BSC (21-5) has now defeated two top 20 teams in the past seven days.
Milea Ray (Alabaster, Ala./Pensacola State) averaged a double-double on the day. She finished with 45 digs and 24 kills. Jeneva Salter (Madison, Ala./Bob Jones HS) earned a team-high 44 kills, with 19 against Thomas More and 25 over Washington and Lee. Julia Denby (Gulf Breeze, Fla./Gulf Breeze HS) finished with 26 kills hitting .358 for the day.
Ansleigh Dailey (Daphne, Ala./Bayside Academy) earned a team-high 94 assists facilitating the offense. And Caroline Johnson (Lucas, Texas/Lovejoy HS) led the back line with 49 digs. Rebecca Erwin (Duluth, Ga./Duluth HS) continued her stellar play at the net, earning a team-best 16 blocks on the day.
The Panthers close out the regular season tomorrow in day two of the invite. They face Randolph-Macon at 11:30 a.m. before host No. 8 Emory at 2 p.m.
