Box Score MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The Birmingham-Southern women's volleyball team came back from a two set deficit to top Rhodes College 3-2 in a Sunday afternoon thriller.
BSC (14-5, 7-2 SAA) dropped the first two sets 30-28 and 25-19, before rallying to sweep the next three (25-15, 25-18, 15-6). The Panthers now sit tied for second in the league.
Marjorie Ward (Winter Park, Fla./Winter Park HS) netted a double-double of 11 kills and 12 digs. Julia Denby (Gulf Breeze, Fla./Gulf Breeze HS) led the offense with a match-high 17 kills, hitting .419, with Jeneva Salter (Madison, Ala./Bob Jones HS) right behind her at 16 kills, respectively.
Along with Ward, four finished with double-digit digs, led by Caroline Johnson (Lucas, Texas/Lovejoy HS) with 23.
BSC remain on the road for another pair of SAA matches. They face Centre College at 6 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 12 before heading to take on Sewanee Saturday at 2 p.m.
