Box Score BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Birmingham-Southern football ended its 2018 season with the most wins the program has seen since 2012. The Panthers (6-4) fell to Southern Athletic Association rival Centre College 56-20 Saturday to finish 4-4 in conference play.
BSC out passed the Colonels on the arm of Trevor Oakes (Somerville, Ala./Hartselle HS) who completed a game-high 29-of-56 for 245 yards and two touchdowns. Gentry Neese (Franklin, Tenn./Franklin HS) finished with a game-high 129 receiving yards. The pair connected on a 56-yarder, the longest of the day, that setup the Panthers first touchdown.
Defensively, Sy Butler (Childersburg, Ala./Childersburg HS) tied for a game-high eight tackles, two solo. He also earned a half tackle for a loss of one yard. Garrett Stevens (Social Circle, Ga./Eastside HS) finished right behind him with seven tackles, three solo, and a half tackle for a loss of two yards.
Tavion Fleming (Franklin, Tenn./Centennial HS) returned a game-high 151 kickoff yards. His longest of the day was 34 yards. Ryder Andrews (Homewood, Ala./Homewood HS) punted for 228 yards, his longest at 46 yards, and put two inside the 20. He also averaged 51.5 yards per kickoff and went 2-for-3 in extra points.
