ORLANDO, Fla. – The Birmingham-Southern women's tennis team improved to 3-2 on the year with a 7-2 victory over Augustana Friday. The Panthers nearly swept both singles and doubles play on the day.
Carlee Petro (Birmingham, Ala./Mountain Brook HS) and Alyssa Yager (Gardendale, Ala./Gardendale HS) gave up just one game at No. 1 doubles as they cruised to an 8-1 win. The pair also won their singles matches. Virginia Hammond (Chattanooga, Tenn./Girls Preparatory School) dominated at No. 4 singles with a 6-1, 6-2 win.
BSC continues competition in the sunshine state. They face Elizabethtown next on Saturday, March 3.
