BSC Gets Midweek Win at Emory

ATLANTA – The Birmingham-Southern baseball team won its fifth straight game on Wednesday, taking down Emory on the road 13-6.

The Panthers put crooked numbers up on the board in the second, fourth, fifth and sixth innings, scoring three runs in each.

Senior outfielder Ross Anderson (Section, Ala./Section HS) and freshman outfielder Cole Steadman (Birmingham, Ala./Briarwood Christian) led the Panthers at the plate. Anderson went 3-for-5 with an RBI and two runs scored. Steadman was a perfect 3-for-3 with a walk, an RBI and three runs scored.

First baseman Tyler Wise (Birmingham, Ala./Spain Park HS) added a home run in the game, scoring three in the fourth inning.

Freshman Hanan Mauldin (Florence, Ala./Florence HS) picked up the win, throwing three innings and allowing one run off two hits.

With the win, Birmingham-Southern improves to 12-9 on the year. The Panthers return to the Hilltop this weekend with a three-game Southern Athletic Association series against Millsaps on March 24-25.
