Baseball Loses Rubber Match to Warriors

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The No. 14 Birmingham-Southern baseball team dropped the weekend rubber match to Hendrix 15-3 on Sunday afternoon, getting run-ruled in the seventh inning.

Freshman right-hander Tristan Harvin (Dothan, Ala./Houston Academy) picked up the loss, throwing three and a third and giving up eight runs on six hits. Only two of the runs scored while Harvin was on the mound were earned. BSC ended the game with four errors.

Offensively, Tyler Hamel (Atlanta, Ga./Alpharetta HS) was 2-for-2 with an RBI and a walk. Hamel, Tyler Wise (Birmingham, Ala./Spain Park HS) and Ross Anderson (Section, Ala./Section HS) had BSC three RBIs.

With the loss, Birmingham-Southern falls to 6-6 overall and 1-2 in the Southern Athletic Association. The Panthers will travel to LaGrange College for their next game on Tuesday, March 6. First pitch for the game is set for 7 p.m. ET.
