BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Birmingham-Southern women's tennis team improved to 11-5 overall and 4-2 in Southern Athletic Association play after routing Hendrix College 9-0 Saturday morning. BSC now sit in third place in the league.
Three Panthers swept their singles opponents in straight sets 6-0, 6-0. Carlee Petro (Birmingham, Ala./Mountain Brook HS) at the No. 1 spot continued her win streak. Emily Enoch (Nashville, Tenn./Christ Presbyterian Academy) at No. 5 and Ashton Henderson (Birmingham, Ala./Laurel Springs HS) at the No. 6 position also dominated their opponents. In doubles play, Alana Owens (Mableton, Ga./Riverwood International Charter School) and Lexie Dillard (Jasper, Ala./Walker HS) dispatched their No. 3 opponent 8-0.
BSC closes out the regular season at home Sunday against Rhodes College. It will be senior day on the Hilltop. First matches begin at 11 a.m.
