Box Score 2 MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The Birmingham-Southern women's volleyball team opened its 2018 season 2-0 after sweeping both Rust College and Huntingdon College in straight sets, 3-0, in day one of the Rhodes Invitational. The Panthers (2-0) saw four hitters finish the day with double-digit kills.
Rebecca Erwin (Duluth, Ga./Duluth HS) led all attackers with 15 kills, hitting .619. Freshman setter Ansleigh Daley (Daphne, Ala./Bayside Academy) earned a double-double in the win over Rust with 12 assists and 10 digs in her collegiate debut.
And Caroline Johnson (Lucas, Texas/Lovejoy HS) paced the back line with a team-high 39 digs. The Panthers continue play tomorrow with two more matches. They start with Brevard at noon and conclude the invite against Dubuque at 2 p.m.
