Box Score JACKSON, Miss. – The Birmingham-Southern women's soccer defeated Belhaven 2-0 on Thursday night, improving to 4-0 on the season.
The Panthers scored two first-half goals and held their lead for the remainder of the match to take home their third road win of the season.
Sophomore forward Sydney Barrow (Birmingham, Ala./Indian Springs HS), BSC's top scorer, opened up the scoring in the 10th minute with an unassisted goal.
Fellow sophomore, midfielder Abby Kay Choate (Tifton, Ga./Tift County HS), found her third goal of the season in the 23rd minute to give BSC the final 2-0 lead.
The Panthers held off the Blazers and kept them off the scoreboard through halftime and the rest of the match.
Sophomore Blakley Jones (Tuscaloosa, Ala./Holy Spirit Catholic HS) played all 90 minutes in goal and finished the match with three saves.
Birmingham-Southern returns home for its next game against Huntingdon College on Saturday, Sept. 15. Kickoff for the match is set for 7 p.m.
