Box Score SAN ANTONIO, Texas. – The Birmingham-Southern football team dropped its first road game of the season at Trinity University Saturday afternoon. BSC (2-2) fell 24-17 to the Tigers and moved to 0-2 in the Southern Athletic Association.
Garrett Stevens (Social Circle, Ga./Eastside HS) led the defense with a game-high 15 tackles, one solo. He also earned 2.5 tackles for a loss of five yards and had a quarterback hurry.
Offensively, Trevor Oakes (Somerville, Ala./Hartselle HS) threw for 192 yards. Wells Smith (Jackson, Tenn./University of Jackson) earned a team-best 81 receiving yards averaging 20.3 yards per catch. And Robert Shufford (McKenzie, Ala./McKenzie HS) led the ground attack with a team-high 73 rushing yards.
Tavion Fleming (Franklin, Tenn./Centennial HS) finished with a game-high 44 return yards on special teams. Ryder Andrews (Homewood, Ala./Homewood HS) and Hayden Terral (Fairhope, Ala./Fairhope HS) split kicking duties. Andrews was perfect in field goals, with his longest at 23 yards, and earned a game-high 190 punt yards. Terral had a team-high 165 kickoff yards.
The Panthers return home to face-off against rival Hendrix College. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. at Krulak Stadium.
