Box Score Regional Tournament Central
ATLANTA – Birmingham-Southern women's volleyball's season ended Friday night in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. BSC (24-7) fell to Transylvania 3-1 in the quarterfinals of the Atlanta Regional.
Three finished with double-digit kills. Rebecca Erwin (Duluth, Ga./Duluth HS) and Alyssa Coats (Nolensville, Tenn./Nolensville HS) tied with a team-high 11, and Milea Ray (Alabaster, Ala./Pensacola State) finished right behind them at 10. All three earned double-doubles in the match. Erwin finished with a match-high 10 blocks, Ray had 12 digs, and Coats picked up 11 digs, respectively.
Ansleigh Dailey (Daphne, Ala./Bayside Academy) also earned a double-double. She finished with 24 assists and 13 digs. Caroline Johnson (Lucas, Texas/Lovejoy HS) led the back line defense, picking up a team-high 19 digs.
The Panthers won the first set, but were unable to pull rallies together down the stretch. BSC has had seven straight 20+ win seasons. They won the Southern Athletic Association regular season title for the first time in school history this year and hosted the conference tournament.
