BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Birmingham-Southern men's and women's swimming and diving teams hosted Evansville in a dual meet at the Birmingham Crossplex on Saturday.
The visitors defeated BSC by a combined score of 329-137 with the men falling 147-76 and the women outscored 182-61.
Some notable performers for the Panthers were freshman Mary Miller Goldberg (Memphis, Tenn./St. George's Independent School), freshman Joe Swing (Huntsville, Ala./Huntsville HS), sophomore Chase Bolding (Panama City Beach, Fla./Wyoming) and sophomore James Hughes (Huntsville, Ala./Grissom HS).
Goldberg won the women's 1000-yard freestyle with a time of 10:53.00 while Swing won the 1000-yard freestyle on the men's side with a time of 9:54.16. Bolding took first in the men's 200-yard breaststroke.
Hughes won both diving events with a score of 247.95 in the 1-meter and 267.75 in the 3-meter.
Birmingham-Southern's next meet will be at the Wabash Invitational on Nov. 22-24.
