BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Four Birmingham-Southern women's swimmers were invited to compete at the 2020 NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championships in Greensboro, N.C.
Senior Becca Erwin (Duluth, Ga./Duluth HS), sophomores Anna Jordan Luth (Pensacola, Fla./Booker T. Washington HS) and Mary Katherine Stewart (Daphne, Ala./Daphne HS), and freshman Mary Miller Goldberg (Memphis, Tenn./St. George's Independent School) all earned the right to fight to be national champions this season.
Erwin, the three-time Southern Athletic Association Women's Swimmer of the Year, will be competing in three individual events: the 500-, 200-, and 100-yard freestyles. She swam in the same three events in last year's nationals, earning silver in the 500-yard freestyle and placing third in the 200- and 100-yard freestyles.
Luth, Stewart, and Goldberg, the SAA Newcomer of the Year, will join Erwin to race in the 800-yard freestyle relay. Luth, Stewart, and Erwin were members of BSC's 800-yard freestyle relay team that placed 11th in nationals last year.
The NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving National Championships will take place at the Greensboro Aquatics Center on March 18-21.
