Panthers Fall to Carthage in Puerto Rico

SAN JUAN, P.R. – The Birmingham-Southern men's basketball team fell to Carthage 92-75 at the Puerto Rico Classic in San Juan, Puerto Rico, on Thursday.

Tied 40-40 at the halftime break, BSC was outscored 52-35 in the final 20 minutes to fall to 3-7 on the season.

Three different Panthers scored in the double-digits in the loss with senior guard Calvin Bak (Muscle Shoals, Ala./Muscle Shoals HS) leading the team with 16 points. Junior forward Christian Stewart (Irondale, Ala./Shades Valley HS) dropped 14 points and grabbed a team-high seven rebounds. Guard Conor O'Sullivan (Tower Cork, Ireland/Cork Institute of Technology) finished with 10 points.

Birmingham-Southern will continue play at the Puerto Rico Classic on Friday night when the Panthers face St. Mary's at 6:30 p.m. CT.
