ATLANTA – The Birmingham-Southern women's tennis team started Southern Athletic Association play with a 6-3 win over Oglethorpe University Saturday. BSC is now 7-4 on the year with the win.
Isabella Wisener (Horton, Ala./Douglas HS) and Alyssa Yager (Gardendale, Ala./Gardendale HS) went undefeated on the day. The pair won 8-7 at No. 1 doubles before going on to win their respective singles matches. Wisener defeated her No. 2 singles opponent 6-4, 6-4. And Yager won her No. 3 singles match 6-1, 6-0.
Ashton Henderson (Birmingham, Ala./Laurel Springs HS) also had an undefeated day. She won No. 3 doubles 8-3 with partner Lexie Dillard (Jasper, Ala./Walker HS) before going on to win her No. 5 singles match 6-2, 6-1.
BSC continues conference play tomorrow on the road. They take on Berry College starting at 9 a.m. ET.
