Box Score DANVILLE, Ky. – The Birmingham-Southern men's basketball team lost to Centre College 70-55 on Friday night, dropping to 5-16 overall and 1-9 in conference play.
Nothing quite fell the Panthers way at Centre, as BSC finished the game shooting 33 percent from the field and 8-of-27 from beyond the three-point line. Falling behind early, the Panthers trailed for the entire game and could never get enough of a foothold in the game to mount a comeback.
Junior forward Christian Stewart (Irondale, Ala./Shades Valley HS) led BSC with 17 points in the loss. Fellow junior Ben Spence (Memphis, Tenn./Christian Brothers HS) came off the bench to score 11 points, while junior guard Conor O'Sullivan (Tower Cork, Ireland/Cork Institute of Technology) had a team-high six assists and seven rebounds off the bench.
Birmingham-Southern will travel to Sewanee for its penultimate Southern Athletic Association away contest on Sunday, Feb. 2. Tip-off for the game is set for 3 p.m.
