BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Birmingham-Southern men's and women's track and field teams combined for nine top eight finishes at the UAB Spring Invite to give them a team eighth place finish.
Birmingham-Southern top finishes
- The Men's 3000m Steeple was very successful for the Panthers with Pyunn Ntwari earning fifth place with a time of 10:47.47.
- Jack Rodgers finished sixth place in the 3000m Steeple with a time of 11:13.33.
- Hunter Siddle also placed in the 3000m Steeple with a seventh place finish and a time of 11:20.26.
- Jaiden Maddox earned two sixth place finishes on the field with a discus throw of 39.55m and a hammer throw of 41.67m.
- Sydney Smith finished eighth in the Women's Javelin Throw with a distance of 27.76m.
- Bruce Davis had a throw of 13.29m in Men's Shot Put to gain the eighth place spot.
- Maurice Sutherland was the top-placed athlete for BSC on the weekend. He finished third in Men's Triple Jump with a distance of 13.95m and also finished eighth in Men's Long Jump with 6.07m.
