CREE ROSS EARNS SECOND TEAM ALL-SAA AT OUTDOOR MEET

CONWAY, Ark. - The Birmingham-Southern men's and women's track and field teams concluded their seasons on Saturday at the SAA Outdoor Track and Field Championship. Freshman Cree Ross earned Second Team All-SAA with his performance in the triple jump.

Ross had the highest placement of any Panther in the meet with his second-place finish in triple jump. His 14.06m jump gave him the all-conference honor. Freshman Kobe King also had an excellent performance in the triple jump with a 12.28m jump, good enough for fifth place. 

Jaylen Scott also had an excellent performance with two top eight finishes in the meet. The Freshman placed fifth in discus with an impressive 38.84m throw while finishing eighth in hammer throw with a distance of 38.01m.

Andrew Warhurst and Noah Arrington also earned points for the Panthers with two sixth-place finishes. Warhurst placed sixth in the 110m hurdles final with a 51.90 time while Arrington ran a 4:06.46 in the 1500m final. Arrington had another top ten finish with a 2:00.08 run in the 800m to cap off his excellent meet. 

Sydney Smith placed the highest of any female athlete with an 11th place finish in javelin throw. Her distance of 26.36m was the best individual performance of any Panther on the women's team. Catherine Chua's time of 5:40.07 placed her 17th in the 1500m to round off the meet.
