BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Birmingham-Southern men's track and field team opened 2024 in the Emory CrossPlex Showdown on Sunday. The team finished 19th headlined by
Noah Arrington earning a fourth place finish and
Jaylen Scott earning a ninth place finish in his collegiate debut.
Birmingham-Southern top individual finishes
- Noah Arrington led the Panthers with a 4th place finish in the Men's 800m with a time of 2:01.33. He also placed well in the 400m with a top 20 time of 58.19.
- Jaylen Scott placed 9th in the Men's Shot Put with a throw of 11.51m in his collegiate debut. Jaylon Pearson also threw in Shot Put with a distance of 9.58m.
- Hunter Siddle finished 13th in the Men's 400m with an impressive 55.31. He also placed inside the top 15 in the 800m with a 14th place time of 2:07.17.
- Mario Brewer Jr. finished inside the top 25 in the Men's 60m in his collegiate debut with a time of 7.38. He was also the team's 200m leader with a 24.03 finish.
- Freshmen Cree Ross and Kobe King competed in the Men's 60m with times of 7.38 and 7.64 respectively. Eric Darden also competed with a 7.66 sprint.
- Cree Ross and Kobe King also finished inside the top 50 of all individuals in the 200m with sprints of 24.49 and 24.82 respectively.
