BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Birmingham-Southern men's and women's track and field teams continued their seasons at the Birmingham CrossPlex on Saturday in the Samford Open. Despite the Division I competition, the Panthers had nine top 25 individual placements.
Freshman Scott earned the highest placement of any BSC athlete with a 13th place finish in Men's Shot Put. His 12.09m throw was the best of his career after throwing 11.51m last weekend.
Mallory Jackson placed highest for the women's team by finishing 18th in the Women's 60m with an 8.37 second sprint to improve on her time of 8.55 last weekend.
Other Birmingham-Southern Finishes
- Mario Brewer Jr. impressed again in the Men's 60m with a 15th place finish. The freshman ran the event in 7.41 seconds. He also ran a 24.06 in the Men's 200m to lead the team.
- Noah Arrington earned two top 20 finishes by placing 17th in the Men's 1 Mile (4:34.31) and 19th in the Men's 800m (2:02.97).
- Cree Ross finished 17th in the Men's 60m Dash with a time of 7.44.
- Andrew Warhurst also competed in the Men's 60m with a 7.95 second sprint.
- Kobe King and Eric Darden ran in the Men's 200m with times of 24.67 and 25.58 respectively.
- Jaylon Pearson competed in the field with a Men's Shot Put throw of 9.31m.
- Hunter Siddle finished top 25 in the Men's 800m with a 2:05.52 time. He also completed the Men's 1 Mile in 4:46.91.
- Shyla Williams ran an 8.74 sprint in the Women's 60m in addition to her 6.40m Women's Shot Put throw.
- Ada Weems rounded out the top 25 placements for BSC with a 3:00.98 time in the Women's 800m. She also competed in the 400m run with a time of 1:11.03.
- Kya Gardner competed in both the Women's 60m and 200m with times of 8.77 and 29.04 seconds respectively.
- Sydney Smith led the Panthers in the Women's 200m and Women's 400m with times of 27.51 and 1:04.02 seconds respectively.
