BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Birmingham-Southern men's and women's track and field teams were back in Birmingham on Saturday to compete in the Bulldog Open hosted by Samford University. With competition from all NCAA levels, the Panthers left with nine personal records in the meet.
Freshman
Kobe King headlined BSC's day with an impressive personal best 13.17m in the Men's Triple Jump to earn a fourth-place finish. King was only behind Division I competition in Samford, Kennesaw State, and Southeast Missouri State. Junior
Eric Darden and Freshman
Cree Ross placed sixth and seventh in the Men's Triple jump with distances of 12.84 and 12.14 respectively. Darden's jump was his career best.
Other Birmingham-Southern Top Finishes
- Mario Brewer Jr. finished with two personal records with a 7.34 second sprint in the Men's 60m and a 23.92 run in the Men's 200m.
- Kobe King recorded his second PR in the Men's 200m with a time of 24.12.
- Noah Arrington PRed in the Men's 1 Mile with a time of 4:30.24.
- Jaylon Pearson claimed two personal records in the field with a shot put throw of 10.90m and a weight throw of 9.19m.
- Ken Felder gave the Panthers their second PR on the day in the Men's Shot Put with a throw of 9.94m.
- Sydney Smith ran a season-best 8.42 in the Women's 60m to earn a top 25 placement.
- Mallory Jackson also finished top 25 in the Women's 60m with a time of 8.50.
- Andrew Warhurst had two season-best events with a 7.80 second sprint in the Men's 60m and a 25.57 second run in the Men's 200m.
