Box Score CONWAY, Ark.—The Birmingham-Southern women's lacrosse team went on the road Saturday and picked up a conference win against Hendrix, 11-9, on Warrior Field in Conway, Ark.
The Panthers moved to 5-1 overall, their best start in program history, and 2-1 in the Southern Athletic Association, and the Warriors fell to 2-4 overall and 0-3 in the SAA.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- After the teams traded goals in the first four minutes, BSC went on a five-goal tear to pull ahead 6-1 by the 17:34 mark.
- Hendrix responded with four straight goals to cut it to 6-5 with 58 seconds left in the half, but the Panthers added one more at the 37-second mark to go up 7-5 at halftime.
- The teams traded goals again to open the second half, and Hendrix cut it to 8-7 at the 20:26 mark.
- The Panthers scored twice in a row to pull up 10-7 with 17:45 left to play, but Hendrix scored again three minutes later cutting it to 10-8.
- BSC scored its final goal of the game at the 12:05 mark to go up 11-8, and held the Warriors scoreless until the end of the game, when they were able to score with five seconds remaining to cut it to 11-9.
NOTABLE
- Sophomore Natalie Daniel led the BSC offense with three goals.
- Senior Amanda Amerson scored twice and also had two assists.
- Freshman Katie Gleeson led with four ground balls.
- Senior Shana O'Brien led with three caused turnovers.
- Sophomore goalkeeper Chloe Massoni recorded 15 saves and faced 24 shots to pick up the win.

- BSC returns home to face Montevallo this Tuesday, March 8, at 4 p.m.
- Montevallo is a first-year NCAA Division II program, and the third college in the state of Alabama (after BSC and Huntingdon) to sponsor women's lacrosse as a varsity sport.
