FIVE PANTHERS EARN ALL-SAA HONORS

ATLANTA - The Birmingham-Southern women's lacrosse team had five players earn All-SAA honors headlined by Margot Peters, Brooklyn Hilliard, and Elizabeth Mitchell earning Second Team.  

Margot Peters earned Second Team All-SAA honors in her sophomore campaign. She has been selected to the Second Team for the second consecutive season. During the 2023 season, Margot started all fifteen games for the Panthers and led the team in goals and points. Her 59 goals scored this season placed her third in the conference and fifth all-time at BSC in a single season. Her 72 points rank fifth in school history for a single season, and she also finished third in the conference in points per game with 4.80. The McDonough native also finished second on the team in assists with 13.

Brooklyn Hilliard earned Second Team All-SAA honors in her sophomore season. This is the first time Brooklyn has been named to an all-conference team. She started in all ten games she appeared in scoring 22 goals and 8 assists giving her a total of 30 points. Hilliard finished third on the team in goals scored and finished fourth in the conference in caused turnovers per game with 1.90.

Elizabeth Mitchell earned a spot on the All-SAA Second Team in her freshman season. She started all fifteen games for the Panthers this season and finished first on the team in ground balls with 43 and caused turnovers with 27. Elizabeth was sixth in the conference in ground balls per game with 2.80 and eighth in caused turnovers per game with 1.80. The defender also finished the 2023 season with three goals.

Marissa Henderson earned Honorable Mention All-SAA honors in her junior season. This is the second time in Marissa's career she has been named to an all-conference team. She started all fifteen games for BSC in 2023 and finished first on the team in assists and second in points. Her 31 assists were the third most in the conference and second most all-time in a single season in school history. Marissa also was second in the SAA in assists per game with 2.07. She scored 21 goals in 2023 to take her to eighth all-time in total goals in BSC history.

Ada Weems earned Honorable Mention All-SAA honors in her freshman campaign. She started fourteen of the fifteen games this season for the Panthers and finished tied for first on the team in caused turnovers with 27. Ada was seventh in the conference in caused turnovers per game with 1.80. She also contributed with three goals and eight assists in 2023. 

Emily Bruner of Rhodes was named Offensive Player of the Year, Sophie Morris from Berry was named Defensive Player of the Year, Dani Taraska from Berry earned Newcomer of the Year, and Head Coach Brittni Hall from Berry earned Coach of the Year.
