Box Score 2 SEWANEE, Tenn.—The No. 16 Birmingham-Southern softball team completed a three-game sweep of Sewanee on Sunday with two shutout victories, including a no-hitter in the final game, winning 25-0 and 15-0, both in five innings.
The Panthers moved to 25-6 overall and 13-2 in the Southern Athletic Association, while the Tigers fell to 5-14 overall and 0-12 in the SAA.
GAME 1
- BSC broke the program's single-game hits record with 24 hits, led by freshman Abby Spencer who was 5-of-6 at the plate.
- The Panthers also broke the single-game doubles record with eight, including two from freshman Elizabeth Sims.
- Freshman Haley Crumpton (3-2) took the win in the circle, going three scoreless innings and giving up only one hit with four strikeouts.
- Freshman Peighton Ponder threw the final two innings and also gave up one hit with four strikeouts.
GAME 2
- Junior Taylor Harkins (14-2) and Sims combined for the five-inning no-hitter; Harkins threw three innings with four strikeouts, and Sims pitched the final two, striking out two batters.
- The Panthers racked up 17 hits in game two, led by junior Maddie Ridgway going 4-of-4.
- BSC again broke the single-game doubles record, this time with nine, including two from Ridgway, two from Crumpton, and two from junior Amanda Ballew.
