Box Score BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Birmingham-Southern women's lacrosse held on to its halftime lead against Hendrix College on a rainy Saturday evening to win 17-16 on senior day in Krulak Stadium. BSC (5-6) improved to 2-3 in Southern Athletic Association play with the win.
Ashley Shepherd (Dandridge, Tenn./Jefferson County HS) had an outstanding day offensively. The junior finished with a team-high five goals. Alyssa Gentzyel (Manassas, Va./Forest Park HS) earned four goals of her own with a game-high four groundballs.
Natalie Daniel (Ooltewah, Tenn./Baylor School) and Jade Cox (Rome, Ga./Darlington School) finished with hat tricks on the day. Cox tied for the game-high of four groundballs. Daniel had a game-high six draw controls.
Jillian Montgomery (Newnan, Ga./LaGrange) picked up the win. She spent a full 60 minutes in goal to improve to 5-6 on the year.
The Panthers continue competition this weekend on the road. They face Southwestern at a neutral site on Sunday, March 26. Game time is set for noon.
