SAA Tournament: Comeback Falls Short, Panthers Downed 16-15

DANVILLE, Ky. – The Birmingham-Southern women's lacrosse team nearly completed the comeback against Centre College Friday night in the first round of the Southern Athletic Association Tournament. BSC (6-10) fell 16-15 to end their season.

 

The Panthers trailed by as many as four goals with under 10 minutes to play in the game.  They would go on to score three down the stretch, but could not connect with the back of the cage in the final minutes to tie it up.

 

Jade Cox (Rome, Ga./Darlington School) earned a game-high four goals, off five shots on goal, and had an assist.  Alyssa Gentzyel (Manassas, Va./Forest Park HS) picked up a team-best five groundballs and earned a team-high three draw controls.

 

The loss went to Jillian Montgomery (Newnan, Ga./LaGrange), who grabbed a game and career-high 22 saves.
