Box Score 2 DANVILLE, Ky. – The Birmingham-Southern softball team split its doubleheader at Southern Athletic Association rival Centre College Saturday. The Panthers (18-16, 7-8 SAA) fell 2-0 in game one and then shut the Colonels out 7-0 in the finale. BSC is now in fourth place in the league.
For the second consecutive day, Haley Crumpton (Alabaster, Ala./Thompson HS) struck out 11 batters en route to a complete game shutout win. She allowed just three hits and zero walks.
Catherine Coffey (Alabaster, Ala./Thompson HS), Abby Spencer (Auburn, Ala./Auburn HS), and Crumpton earned three hits on the day. Coffey went 3-for-6 with two runs.
The series concludes on Sunday, April 9 with a single game starting at noon ET.
