ATLANTA, Ga. – The Birmingham-Southern softball team split its season opener at Emory University Friday afternoon.  The Panthers took game one 5-2 before falling 5-0 in the night cap.

Saydee Keith (Corner, Ala./Corner HS) led with a team-best three hits on the day and .429 batting average.  Haley Crumpton (Alabaster, Ala./Thompson HS) earned the game one win striking after striking out six in seven innings of work.

The Panthers remain on the road.  They head to the Piedmont Classic February 17-18.
