Box Score BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Birmingham-Southern women's lacrosse team picked up its third win of the season on Tuesday night, taking down the Lions of Piedmont College 22-9 at Krulak Stadium.
After falling behind 1-0 to start the game, BSC went on a 7-0 run to take the advantage of Piedmont. The Panthers would take a 12-7 lead into halftime.
Birmingham-Southern's maintained much of the possession in the second half and limited the Lion offense to just two goals in the final 30 minutes of play, helping the Panthers secure the 22-9 victory.
The Panthers were led by junior attack Katie Gleeson (Franklin Tenn./Franklin HS) who scored a game-high six goals and assisted on two others. Senior midfielder Natalie Daniel (Ooltewah, Tenn./Baylor School) also found the back of the net on multiple occasions, scoring five goals.
Daniel also led the team in draw controls with 19. Gleeson led the team with four caused turnovers on defense.
Birmingham-Southern will stay at home for its next game, a Southern Athletic Association matchup with Rhodes College on Saturday, March 24. Start time for the match is set for 11 a.m.
