Box Score 2 JACKSON, Miss. – The Birmingham-Southern softball team gave up just three runs in its 5-1, 5-2 doubleheader sweep of Millsaps College Saturday. BSC (18-8) improved to 10-2 in Southern Athletic Association play with the wins.
Seven Panthers finished with multi-hit days. The pack was led by Ella Day (Gadsden, Ala./Gadsden City) who hit .400 with a triple and scored a run. She and Savannah Lee (Lascassas, Tenn./Oakland HS) finished the day with over .800 slugging percentages. Lee blasted a two-run homerun in the top of the seventh inning of game two.
Haley Crumpton (Alabaster, Ala./Thompson HS) and Jessica Perley (Vestavia Hills, Ala./Vestavia HS) picked up wins. Crumpton struck out seven in her nine innings of work and finished with a 0.78 ERA. Perley held batters to a .176 average to earn her win.
BSC concludes the road series Sunday. First pitch is scheduled for noon.
