Box Score BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Birmingham-Southern women's lacrosse team defeated Kalamazoo College 16-11 on Monday afternoon, improving the Panthers to 4-6 on the season.
BSC got off to a hot start, scoring four unanswered goals to start the game and would go on to lead 8-5 at halftime. The Panthers would double their goal total and extend the lead to five in the final 30 minutes to secure the 16-11 win.
Senior Natalie Daniel (Ooltewah, Tenn./Baylor School) was a key player in the win, scoring a season-high six goals and earning eight draw controls. Senior midfielder Ashley Shepherd (Dandridge, Tenn./Jefferson County HS) was also huge on the offensive end, adding five goals of her own and four draw controls.
BSC's other multiple goal-scorer was Jade Cox (Rome, Ga./Darlington School), who finished with four goals.
Sophomore Zoe Taylor (St. Petersburg, Fla./St. Petersburg HS) got the win in goal, recording nine saves in her second career start at goalie.
Birmingham-Southern will hit the road for its next match, a Southern Athletic Association contest at Hendrix College on Saturday, March 31.
