Box Score 2 BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Birmingham-Southern softball team took game one of its midweek doubleheader against Huntingdon College 8-0 in five innings before falling 2-0 in the night cap. BSC is now 20-9 overall this season.
Kendell Hamm (Adamsville, Ala./Sumitron Christian HS) hit .750 on the day to lead the team after going 3-for-4 at the plate. Abby Spencer (Auburn, Ala./Auburn HS) and Jojo Johnston (Chelsea, Ala./University of Mobile) also earned three hits each, respectively. Abbey Bice (Adamsville, Ala./Sumiton Christian HS), Saydee Keith (Corner, Ala./Corner HS), and Haley Crumpton (Alabaster, Ala./Thompson HS) finished the day with two hits apiece.
Crumpton earned the game one win after pitching a complete game, one hit shutout. Batters averaged .059 against her. She struck out four and walked zero. Jessica Perley (Vestavia Hills, Ala./Vestavia HS) finished with a team-high six strikeouts on the day.
BSC remains at home. They take on Stillman College next Tuesday, April 3 in a doubleheader. First pitch is scheduled for 4 p.m.
