Box Score 2 DANVILLE, Ky. – Powerful offensive production helped lead Birmingham-Southern softball to a sweep of Centre College Sunday in Southern Athletic Association action. BSC (10-2) defeated the Colonels 5-0 and 8-2 to improve to 3-0 in conference play.
Savannah Lee (Lascassas, Tenn./Oakland HS) earned five hits including a home run and a double to finish .714 at the plate for the day. She also earned a team-high four RBI. Abby Spencer (Auburn, Ala./Auburn HS) and Bailey Murphy (Trussville, Ala./Hewitt-Trussville HS) had four hits each. Murphy's hits included a double and Spencer finished with two runs and two RBI.
On the mound, Jessica Perley (Vestavia Hills, Ala./Vestavia HS) and Alexis Eisenberg (Chelsea, Ala./Georgia Gwinnett) earned the wins and Haley Crumpton (Alabaster, Ala./Thompson HS) and Murphy picked up saves. Perley pitched four shutout innings, allowing just one hit in her win. And Crumpton struck out a team-best five batters in three innings of work.
BSC returns to the Hilltop on Tuesday for a doubleheader with Piedmont College. First pitch is scheduled for 2 p.m.
