Box Score 2 BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – No. 18 Birmingham-Southern softball improved to 28-5 overall with its two-game sweep of Emory University Wednesday night. BSC won 4-1 and 12-5 to extend their streak to 15 games.
Abby Spencer (Auburn, Ala./Auburn HS) continued to dominate offensively for the Panthers. The senior went 4-for-6, including a double, with three runs and three RBI. Savannah Lee (Lascassas, Tenn./Oakland HS) sent two of her three hits over the fence to earn six RBI. She now has 14 home runs on the year. And Jojo Johnston (Chelsea, Ala./University of Mobile), Bailey Murphy (Trussville, Ala./Hewitt-Trussville HS), and Kolyn Kyser (Springville, Ala./Springville HS) each finished with two hits a piece.
Both Haley Crumpton (Alabaster, Ala./Thompson HS) and Jessica Perley (Vestavia Hills, Ala./Vestavia HS) earned the complete game victories. Crumpton struck out a game-high nine batters and allowed just one run.
BSC closes its home series this weekend against Southern Athletic Association rival Millsaps College with a doubleheader on Saturday, and a single game on Sunday. First pitch both days is at noon.
