Box Score MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The Birmingham-Southern women's lacrosse team was eliminated from the Southern Athletic Association Tournament on Friday afternoon, falling to the Hendrix Warriors 16-11 in the quarterfinals.
The fourth-seeded Panthers and No. 5-seed Warriors were tied up 5-5 at the halftime break, but Hendrix outscored BSC 11-6 in the final 30 minutes to advance.
Birmingham-Southern had more total shots and fewer turnovers than Hendrix; however, the Panthers could not get the ball past the opposing goalie, who had 13 saves.
Senior attack Ali Wynkoop (Bethlehem, Pa./Liberty HS) led the Panther offense in the season-ending loss, scoring a season-high three goals. Junior Jade Cox (Rome, Ga./Darlington School) and freshman Lizzie LaVangie (Jacksonville, Fla./Darlington School) each scored two goals.
Sophomore goalie Alexus Howard (Spring Hill, Tenn./Franklin HS) ended the match with six saves.
Birmingham-Southern closed the 2019 season with a final 7-10, 3-3 record.
