MARSHALL, Texas – No. 6 Birmingham-Southern softball upset host No. 2 East Texas Baptist to stay alive at the Marshall Regional of the NCAA Tournament Friday night. BSC defeated ETBU 7-4 in the night cap after falling to No. 6 Texas Lutheran 2-0 in game one.
The Panthers 21 win streak was snapped with the loss.

Haley Crumpton (Alabaster, Ala./Thompson HS) led the team at the plate and in the circle. She went 2-for-3, including a double, with an RBI and struck out four in 6.1 innings work, giving up just one earned run to earn the win. Saydee Keith (Corner, Ala./Corner HS), Annie Clayton (Eufaula, Ala./Eufaula HS), Kyser, and Alyssa Fowler (Moody, Ala./Moody HS) also had hits. Bailey Murphy (Trussville, Ala./Hewitt-Trussville HS) and Keith led the team with two RBI each.

The Panthers were unable to find an answer to TLU's Kayla Oliveira in the circle. Abby Spencer (Auburn, Ala./Auburn HS) and Clayton earned BSC's only hits. Crumpton went six innings, striking out four and walking just one batter in the loss.
