Box Score SEWANEE, Tenn. – The Birmingham-Southern women's lacrosse team fell on the road at Southern Athletic Association rival Sewanee on Saturday.
In their first conference matchup of the season, the Panthers were downed 18-7 by the Tigers. Senior midfielder Jade Cox (Rome, Ga./Darlington School) led the BSC offensive effort in the loss, scoring six of the team's seven goals. Cox also led the team in ground balls and caused turnovers with eight and six, respectively.
Attack Kendal Vick (Madison, Ala./James Clemens HS) added her name to the scoresheet, as well, with a goal in the second half.
Junior goalkeeper Alexus Howard (Franklin, Tenn./Franklin HS) got the start in goal for BSC, recording 12 saves in the loss.
Birmingham-Southern will remain on the road for their next game at Southern Virginia on Friday, Feb. 21 at 5 p.m. ET.
