BSC Continues Win Streak

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Birmingham-Southern softball extended its win streak to eight Monday with a two-game sweep of Hiram College.  The Panthers won 6-2 and 2-1 to improve to 12-4 overall.

Bailey Murphy (Trussville, Ala./University of South Alabama) sent two over the fence.  She finished 4-for-6 with four RBI and two runs to lead the team at the plate.  Sam Hilyer (Prattville, Ala./Chattahoochee Valley CC) and Saydee Keith (Corner, Ala./Corner HS) earned three hits of their own.  Hilyer hit .750 with an RBI and Keith went 3-for-6, including a double, with a run and an RBI.

Lauren Keplinger (Pinson, Ala./Wallace State CC) and Annie Clayton (Eufaula, Ala./Eufaula HS) earned the wins, giving up just three combined runs over the two games.  Clayton threw 6.2 scoreless innings in the finale and Keplinger struck out five. 

BSC hits the road next.  They take on Hendrix College in a conference series March 14-15.
